Pomering takes over as head of Moss Adams' WM unit

Former head of financial-firm consulting replaces Jaeger at affiliated RIA. Seattle-based CPA firm and business consultancy Moss Adams, has named Rebecca Pomering, previously practice leader for the firm's financial-service consulting division, as head of its wealth-management unit. She takes over from Mark Jaeger, who has been named COO.

"While we recognize this change will reduce our current resources for assisting other financial advisory firms with their practice management needs, we are excited to capitalize on Ms. Pomering's deep understanding of this business to help grow our own business in the western part of the United States," says Moss Adams' chairman and CEO Rick Anderson.

Moss Adams isn't saying who will take Pomering's old job.

In her new role, Pomering will work on integrating Moss Adams Wealth Advisors with the firm's broader accounting business and developing the business in Washington, Oregon, California, New Mexico, and Arizona, where Moss Adams does most of its non-consulting business.

Pomering joined Moss Adams as a consultant in 1997.

Meanwhile, Philip Palaveev, Moss Adams' head of market research, has upped stakes for Elmsford, N.Y.-based RIA Fusion Advisor Network, where, as president, he'll focus on advisor recruiting.

Last Summer Mark Tibergien, the former head of Moss Adams' consulting business, left the firm to lead Pershing's Advisor Solutions unit.

Moss Adams' wealth-management unit provides financial-planning, risk-management and investment-consulting services to high-net-worth clients. It has about $800 million in assets under management. -FWR
